Dentures & PartialsAn Overview

Dentures are the traditional way to replace a full arch of missing teeth. With advancements in modern dental technology, dentures are now designed for a more natural appearance. Digital imaging and dental technology allow for more precise measurements of the bite for improved fit and comfort. Dentures can also be permanently secured using dental implants. Our office offers a range of options for the replacement of missing teeth including traditional dentures, hybrid fixed dentures, and All-On-Four® in our San Francisco dentist office.

Replacing missing teeth is essential to prevent the deterioration of the jaw, teeth, and gums. Patients with missing teeth run the risk of losing bone structure. Without the support of the root structures from the missing teeth, the jawbone often begins to deteriorate. As the bone beings to deteriorate, the jawline will recede, leaving the face looking sunken in and withdrawn.

Left untreated, missing teeth often lead to other dental concerns as remaining teeth shift and the health of the gums is affected. Periodontal disease, tooth decay, and bite problems can develop after tooth loss. Our will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan to replace a missing tooth, or teeth, with the most suitable option for your needs, goals, and budget.

Dentures & Partials What to Expect

A thorough and personalized dental exam will help you and your dentist choose the best treatment option available. Your oral health, the progression of bone loss, cosmetic goals and budget will all be discussed and considered when choosing the appropriate replacement treatment. The procedure to receive your denture will be dependent on which option you choose.

Traditonal Dentures

Molds will be taken of the jaw and used to fabricate a custom denture. Using digital imagining the denture will be created to securely fit in the mouth for a more stable bite and improved confidence. Our offices use the most modern dental materials for more natural and beautiful results.

Hybrid Denture

A hybrid denture is secured using dental implants. Dental implants are surgically implanted into the jaw. Once healed, the custom fabricated dentures is fixed to the implants. A hybrid denture helps to maintain the integrity of the facial structure and jaw bone. They can be maintained and cleaned like natural teeth.

All-On-Four®

All-On-Four® dentures allow patients with a highly compromised bone structure to receive dental implant secured dentures. All-On-Four® uses precise and extensive pre-treatment planning to strategically place four tiny implants to optimize healthy bone tissue. The implants will be surgically implanted into the predetermined areas and a temporary denture will be fit and secured. After about 3-6 months of healing time, a permanent denture custom designed to look and feel natural will be permanently fixed to your dental implants.
